January 2016 news

Sat 23 Jan 2016

Congleton Dane Probus Club held their monthly meeting at Lion & Swan Hotel on Monday 18th January 2016. Chairman Don Cole welcomed members.

New member Brian Fawcett was welcomed to the meeting and as is the custom he gave us all an insight into his background and business experience. At that stage he was presented with the “welcome pack” and our membership list.

Paul Hibbert , vice chairman and events co-ordinator asked organisers of events to update members. Trip to JCB is being organised by David Heard in March 2016. A visit to Cosford Museum is organised by Trevor Adams in April. A multi-day trip is planned for July 2016 .

Don Newling reported on our successful Snooker Group which meets Tuesday  mornings and turn out from members has been excellent. Everyone seems to enjoy the game and the banter that goes with it.

Spring Lunch is organised for 17th March at The Vicarage in Holmes Chapel and organiser Doug Mac Kenzie updated members on the arrangements.

We have had two excellent in-house speakers , first in December when Harry Moore made an presentation on “ Battle of River Plate”, and in January , Trevor Adams made a presentation on “Battle of Waterloo”. Both these presentations were well appreciated by members.

We would add that new members are always welcome and for those who may be interested you can make contact through this website.
