Congleton Dane Probus Club held their monthly meeting at Lion & Swan Hotel on Monday 20th June 2016. Chairman Don Cole welcomed members and the speaker of the day Philip Austin. New member Richard Gowing was welcomed to the meeting and as is the custom he gave us all an insight into his background and business experience. At that stage he was presented with the “welcome pack” and our membership list.

Paul Hibbert, vice chairman and events co-ordinator asked organisers of events to update members. Don Cole updated on the visit to Bletchley Park and trust property at Hughenden which is due to take place on Monday 4th July and Tuesday 5th July 2016. There has been a good response for the visit. Further trip is planned for a visit to National Space Centre in September 2016. Past Chairmen’s Lunch is being organised and a good turnout was confirmed. Autumn Lunch will be at Alexandra court in October 2016. Annual Golf Match with Congleton Probus Club will be held at Astbury Golf Club on Tuesday 14th October followed by lunch.
Don Newling reported on our successful Snooker Group which meets Tuesday mornings at Cygnet Club and turn out from members has been excellent. Everyone seems to enjoy the game and the banter that goes with it. Lunch Group meets regularly at Brownlow Inn and Congleton Probus Club joins them.
