Congleton Dane Probus Club held their monthly meeting at the Lion and Swan on Monday the 16th of June and were pleased to welcome guest Michael Saunders to the meeting along with the speaker for the day Bob Kermeen.
Chairman Roger Smith was able to tell the members that the new plaque had been placed at the entrance to the hotel and hoped that members would take the opportunity to see it for themselves.

Eifion Thomas then proposed Terry Soult for membership of the Club, this was seconded by Chairman Roger and Terry was elected unanimously and will be welcomed as a member at the meeting in July.
The trip to Liverpool on the 7th of July is now fully booked and all the arrangements are in place. Don Cole gave more information on the proposed trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, the information is on the website and the date being the 22nd of September. Paul confirmed that the next meeting of the dining group would be on Monday the 30th of June.
Don Newling gave his usual amusing update about the ‘goings on’ at the Tuesday morning snooker group and encouraged more members to come along and have a go.
Bob Kermeen gave a most interesting talk on the subject of ‘A Nastia Game’, covering the main subjects of the development of war gaming on computers and with particular relevance to both the Iran/Iraq war and the first Gulf War. The talk was well illustrated, very well received by the members, many questions were asked and Bryan Booth proposed thanks on behalf of the members.
