There is a late change of speaker for our next meeting on Monday 14th August . Unfortunately, Shaun Farrelly has had to withdraw, but Chris Caroe has agreed to stand in at short notice. Chris will give a talk entitled “Galtieri – my part in his downfall”
General Leopoldo Galtieri was the military dictator and President of Argentina who led his nation into military conflict with Britain over the governorship of the Falkland Islands in 1982.
Chris, a veteran of the Falklands War, served in the Royal Marines for 7 years until being discharged on medical grounds. He then spent 30 odd years in the food and drink sector before becoming a Celebrant, taking weddings & funerals as well as being an accomplished Toastmaster. Living in Chester, he was a member of the Round Table and subsequently the 41 Club.
