The invited speaker at our next meeting on Monday, 10th November will be Alan Kibble who will give a talk about the re-investigation of the ‘Moors Murders’. Alan served for 30 years in Greater Manchester Police before his retirement. Of those, 28 years were in CID. At one point, whilst serving on the serious crime division, he was part of a small team which conducted a cold case investigation of the ‘Moors Murders’.
This was the chilling case of the abduction and killing of 5 children by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between 1963 and 1965. Three of the victims have been found buried on Saddleworth Moor, and a fourth is believed to be there but as yet unfound. Both Brady and Hindley have subsequently died in prison. The talk will cover the investigation and what it resulted in on conclusion.
