At our next meeting on Monday, 12th October, the invited speaker will be John Kerwin giving a talk on the subject of the Battle of Agincourt.
Mr Kerwin was born and raised in Salford, left school at 16, but in later years went on to study Material Science and became Technical Director of two international Material Science companies. He has presented technical papers around the world and after a 50 year career he retired and converted one of those papers into a Probus talk, highlighting the fascinating history of the topic, he has since created other talks on significant events in history and presented them to a variety of societies and interest groups.
Most people know something about the famous battle of Agincourt in the Middle Ages, but this presentation describes the fascinating sequence of events that takes place years, months, days and hours before the battle. The talk will also look at the battle and its aftermath and what its significance was in our history with France
