For our next meeting on Monday 11th May, the invited speaker will be Karen Halton who left her career as an Armani suit wearing, top legal recruiter in the City, swapped it for overalls and became an award winning farmer, changing the perception of a woman’s place in agriculture. It was a journey of challenges, determination and a drive to succeed whilst running a business that produces one of the healthiest products on earth that she feels is devalued every day on the supermarket shelves.
In partnership with husband Tom, Karen runs a 550-acre dairy farm, Halton Farms, with in excess of 500 cows. Their Milk Shack on Chance Hall Lane will be known to many of us for its enterprising vending of raw milk to the public.
Congleton Dane Probus Club is a friendly group of retired business and professional people. Anyone wishing to sample this meeting and talk can contact the club through the Contact Page of this web site, or if preferred they can ring 07717 375505 to speak to a current member.
